We are proud to be a genuine working ranch, raising cattle and horses and caring for a variety of ranch animals. Guests have the opportunity to experience our way of life firsthand and may even join us for everyday ranch activities—from feeding horses and livestock to checking or moving cattle and gathering fresh eggs from the hens.

Events at the Ranch
An event venue like no other! Cottonwood Creek Ranch offers plenty of room for guests, parking and entertaining—all in a beautiful Wyoming setting with mountain views, country charm and convenient on-site amenities.
Our versatile venue can accommodate weddings, conferences, corporate meetings and retreats, family reunions, holiday parties and other special occasions. From weekday business retreats to weekend celebrations, we offer flexible spaces for groups large and small.
Our arena and ranch facilities also open the door to a variety of equine, livestock and Western events, including clinics, competitions, demonstrations, sales and other arena-based activities. With ample parking and room for participants, spectators, trailers and livestock, the ranch offers the space and facilities needed to bring Western events together in one location.

We offer a variety of lodging options for groups big and small. Whether you prefer the character of a historic ranch home, the comfort of a cozy cabin or bunkhouse, or the adventure of staying in an authentic sheepwagon or tipi, there’s something for everyone at Cottonwood Creek Ranch.

Wedding Venue
Wedding and event destinations can be few and far between in Wyoming, which is why we are excited to welcome guests to Cottonwood Creek Ranch. With beautiful views of Laramie Peak as your backdrop and multiple ceremony locations throughout the property, the ranch offers a setting for a truly one-of-a-kind Wyoming celebration.
Our spacious reception area can accommodate large gatherings and features multiple reception and serving areas, accessible restrooms, a warming kitchen, and a stage for live music or entertainment.
With a variety of on-site lodging, your wedding party, family and guests can stay together and turn your celebration into an entire weekend at the ranch. From the ceremony and reception to evenings spent together under the Wyoming sky, Cottonwood Creek Ranch offers more than a venue—it offers a destination.
Trail Rides
Experience the ranch on horseback with a guided ride through the beautiful foothills of the Laramie Mountains. Rides travel across varied ranch terrain, including rolling prairie, buttes and creek crossings, offering a unique way to see the landscape and experience the ranch.
Our gentle, sure-footed horses live and work on the same country where we ride, making them confident and well suited to the terrain. Our knowledgeable guides enjoy sharing the ranch, its history and the surrounding landscape with guests along the way.
Guided rides are available by advance appointment only and are subject to guide availability, ranch activities and weather conditions. Because we do not maintain a full-time riding staff, advance scheduling is strongly encouraged.
Guest Amenities
Our fishing pond and Pond House recreation area are favorite places to relax and enjoy the ranch. The pond is stocked with sport fish and is catch-and-release only, offering guests a fun opportunity to spend a little time fishing during their stay.
A floating dock extends over the water, while the Pond House features a covered, lighted deck, comfortable patio furnishings, a propane fire pit and a galley-style serving area. Two paddle boats are also available for guests to enjoy on the pond.
Whether you’re fishing, taking a paddle boat out on the water or simply gathering around the fire pit as the sun goes down, the Pond House is one of the best places on the ranch to spend a Wyoming evening.
Use of the pond, dock, paddle boats and recreation areas is at your own risk.
Performance Horse Program
Cottonwood Creek Ranch is home to a performance horse program featuring some of the industry’s most respected cow horse and cutting bloodlines. Throughout the year, we host ranch sorting practices, clinics and other equine activities as weather and ranch schedules allow. Ranch sorting events are typically held three times each summer, with current dates and details posted on our Facebook page.
Our arena and facilities are also available for outside clinics, competitions and other equine events. Contact us to discuss hosting your event at CCR.
For guests traveling with horses or those needing longer-term equine accommodations, we offer boarding with 38 indoor stalls, along with conditioning and basic rehabilitation services. Facilities include a six-horse panel walker, and services may include stall rest, bandage upkeep and conditioning support.
Additional wellness and rehabilitation options may include TheraPlate, PEMF and red-light therapy. Services are available by arrangement and are tailored to the individual horse and its needs.
Fantastic Working Facilities
Designed with Wyoming winters in mind, our indoor cattle working facilities make handling livestock safer and more efficient when the wind blows and temperatures drop.
The facility features a double alley leading to a Silencer chute or bull-fitting chute, along with hot water, a veterinary work area and camera system. Thoughtful design and the ability to work indoors can make all the difference during long winter days and, especially, calving season. We may be a little spoiled—but it’s a good feeling knowing a newborn calf can be brought inside instead of facing a Wyoming snowbank.
Our calving barn is also available for seasonal lease and includes indoor pens, a maternity chute, work area, hot water and cameras—providing a well-equipped option for producers needing additional facilities during calving season.

The heart of a working ranch is its animals, and every one of them has a place at Cottonwood Creek Ranch. Some contribute to the livelihood of the ranch, some help us get the work done—and a few are mostly here for being cute!
CCR is home to cattle and horses, along with dogs, cats, chickens, donkeys, llamas and a couple of mules. Together, they’re all part of the everyday sights, sounds and personality of life at Cottonwood Creek Ranch.
